The deceased had been ailing for some considerable time but was admitted to the hospital only a month before he died. There, he had the unremitting care and attention of Dr. McKell and the nursing staff with unavailing results. The remains were taken to Mulline and interred with every token of respect by the deceased's comrades from the Lady Gladys Gold Mine where he last worked and by whom he was much esteemed. The deceased's parents, Andrew Muir and Ann Spowart, were born in Scotland: he in 1832 and his wife in 1836. She came from Fife. They married on 21 May 1858 in Fife, Scotland and migrated to Australia to began their family of 6 girls and 1 boy. They were: Mary born 1859, Beatrix born 1861; Robert in 1864; Helen born 1866; Jemima born 1868; Sarah Ann born 1873 and Annie born and died in 1877.
