Biography

This little boy was the fifth of eight children born to Michael and Mary Powell, who were married on 20 November 1893 at the residence of the bride's father in Charlton West, Victoria. Their other children were: John Joseph Leslie born 1894; Francis Ernest born 1895; Alice Josephine born 1897; Mary Iolene born 1899; Frances Maud born 1904; Cecily Evelyn born 1906; Philomena born 1911. The children's father died in 1936 at Collie and his wife in 1957 at Collie. They had arrived in Western Australia some time between 1900 and 1903. Michael Clarence was their first child to be born in Western Australia.
