Biography

The deceased was buried by William H Marshall. Witnesses at the burial were JM Carew and Thomas P McKell. His death was certified in writing by Robert Crosbie, Davyhurst.

Shiels died of typhoid fever, ulceration of larynx and cardiac syncope after a three week illness. He had lived in Victoria for 20 years 8 months before moving to Western Australia.
