Charles Wilkinson had been suffering for 9 months before his death. He was the holder of a Gallon Licence for premises known as Kennedy's Store, on Town Lot 50, Kookynie. In May 1919, he applied to the courts to move the premises to Lot 5 at Kookynie.
It is believed Mr Wilkinson came from a family of 9 daughters and 2 sons. The parents were married in Yorkshire, England in 1843 and migrated to Australia in 1853 with their five daughters on the "Marion Moore", arriving in Melbourne on 9 March 1854. Charles spent 30 years in Victoria before moving to Western Australia. He left an estate valued at £840 to his wife, Jessie.
