Deceased died drinking spirits of salts, thinking he was drinking whiskey.
Remedial measures were quickly taken but O'Brien died in intense agony and short time after.
An inquest into his death was held at Niagara on 14 July 1899.
The informant of his death was E.W. Eaton, Stable Proprietor, of Niagara.
