Biography

The deceased had lived in South Australia for 30 years before moving to Western Australia. He left an estate valued at £130 to his daughter, Caroline Cogan (nee Curtis).

The deceased's mother, Caroline Hambley, was born in 1807 in Plympton, Devon, England. She married James Curtis on 4 April, 1836 at Stoke Damerel, Devon, England. He was born in 1809 in Gwennap, Cornwall, England. James was the eldest of their four known children. The others were: Caroline born 1838; Blanch born January 1840; William John Henry born 1846. Their father died in October 1885 and their mother the following year.
