Mrs Norris had suffered for nine days with Septicaemia before she collapsed and died. Her youngest child was just two weeks of age.. The others were aged 1, 4, 5 and 7. She had lived in New South Wales for 31 years before moving to Western Australia. William Madigan was born in 1841 in Goulburn, New South Wales, his wife 30 May 1847 in Giddy Gang, New South Wales. They married 16 January 1861 in Goulburn and the marriage produced 11 children between 1861 and 1864. Margaret Loveday was the fifth of 3 girls and 8 boys. Her siblings were: Mary Aloisius born 1861; John Joseph born 1863; Mortimer L born 1865; Joseph born 1867; William born 1871; Frank born 1873; Lawrence Patrick born 1877; James Gregory born 1879; Catherine born 1882; Peter born 1884. William Madigan died 29 October 1906 in Kalgoorlie and his wife in Thirlmere, New South Wales, 1 October 1917. Margaret's husband, Charles Christopher, battled on as a sole father until 13 August 1924, when he died at Torrumbarry, Victoria. It is not known whether he remarried.
