Biography

The child's parents were married in Kookynie in 1908 (Marriage Registration 13/1908, North Coolgardie). John Jackson Smith was born at sea in 1880. His wife was born 24 March 1883 at Benalla, Victoria. Their family of eleven children consisted of 7 girls and 4 boys, of which Jessie appears to have been the second youngest. John Jackson Smith died 2 November 1955 at Esperance. His wife died in 1975. Jessie is buried in the Salvation Army portion of the Kookynie Cemetery.
