Biography

The deceased spent the first 38 years of her life in Victoria before moving to Western Australia. Her husband, Thomas, died 3 October 1893 at Benalla, Victoria, aged 51 years. The couple's first child, Thomas, was born and died in 1884.

Mary Anne's father, Edward, was born in Tipperary, Ireland, in 1825. Her mother, Elizabeth Hear, was born in 1826 in Exeter, Devon, England. They married on 24 May 1848 in Adelaide. Mary Ann was one of three girls and four boys born to this couple. Her known siblings were: Edward born Penola, South Australia 12 Jun 1849. The family moved to Victoria where subsequent children were born: William born 1852; Catherine; John; James born 1861; Rosina Helena born 1865.
